Welcome to Salen

Salen is the ideal location for those
wanting to visit all corners of Mull. Just a 15 minute drive
from the ferry terminal at Craignure, the village is also within easy
driving distance of
Tobermory and Dervaig in the north. The west coast of Mull is also
just a short drive from Salen, cut across Mull via the 3 mile road to Gruline to visit Ulva or Ben More. |

In August every year there is an
agricultural show in Salen. The show field is actually at Aros
Bridge, just north of Salen itself. There are livestock
exhibited, sheep, cattle, poultry etc. and pet shows for both
working dogs and more pampered pooches! People exhibit produce
and crafts and there are demonstrations of skills such as shearing
and chainsaw sculpting. All this as well as the perennial
favourites - the produce and beer tents!
Glenforsa Air Strip is just outside
Salen, there are no longer commercial flights to Mull but it
is used by private planes. |
