Events on MullA list of diary events can be found on Round & About's website click here. Agriculture/Food The villages of Salen and Bunessan each host agricultural shows each summer. Various stock are judged along with dog shows (working dogs are judged separately to pets) and gymkhanas. There are produce tents and craft stalls and usually there demonstrations and displays of various skills. There are lots of things happening throughout the year on Mull. The list of annual events has increased with the creation of the Mull and Iona Food Festival which highlights the quality of produce grown and reared on the islands as well as the talent of our hotel and restaurant chefs. Activities during the week are wide ranging and feature producer's markets, cookery demonstrations using local produce, children's food/art competition, walks with the forest ranger to find 'wild' foods. More infromation about the food festival can be found at Mull & Iona Community Trust. Arts/Theatre/Dance/Music Mull boasts its own professional theatre company, Mull Theatre, who perform at Mull Little Theatre in Dervaig and at venues in Tobermory during the summer. For more information about theatre productions on Mull and also touring productions by Mull Theatre, visit their website Mull Theatre For live music, dance and visual arts, An Tobar Arts Centre, Gallery and Cafe is the place to visit. Their website has a comprehensive list of events, exhibitions, performances and workshops: An Tobar Mull has an annual Traditional Music Festival in April and another yearly music event, Mendelssohn on Mull, in July. Both festivals are held in various venues all over the island. Another firm fixture in Mull's diary is the Mod, a competition featuring the best in Gaelic singing, dancing and poetry. Fans of traditional music may also consider the Fiddler's Rally as another reason to visit the Isle of Mull. Rally A rally of a different kind, this event attracts people from all over Britain who like the challenge of Mull's twisty single track roads, blind summits and humped-back bridges. The majority of the stages are held at night and the relevant roads are closed, the rally ends with a spectacular fireworks display in Tobermory. It is important that all visitors to Mull enjoy their holiday, so if you aren't a fan of rally driving and would rather avoid this event, remember that the rally is held in mid October. On the other hand, if you would like to visit Mull especially for this event, book your accommodation well in advance. For information about the rally, and details of the next event, go to the RALLY WEBSITE
